Alan Watts has a great riff, he muses “all the troubles going on in the world are being supervised by people with very good intentions…”

But, with the mainstream discourse being so toxic right now, you might be thinking to yourself– “There’s NO WAY they, the people doing horrific things, x, y, and, z have good intentions!”

But, I suspect, as the division deepens and the chaos ensues it’s even more true. That is, as we dig our heels in, we’re more and more convinced of our own tribe’s virtues and our interlocutor’s lunacy. It gets easier and easier to justify our own imagined superiority as we demonize the other side.

Anyway, I know I’m not going to be the one to level up said discourse, but I do believe the first step toward doing so is drawing attention to our own biases and reality tunnels.

This mind-meld with my man Cory Allen gets into this very topic. At the same time though, it’s a break from all of that. A wonder-facing conversational hammock free of fear-based flavors. We also do something a little different in this one– Cory actually facilitates an impromptu wonder-stoking meditation. So do listen to the whole shebang, my dear diginauts!

Speaking of cory— You better know and love him by now! But, if not, he’s an author, podcaster, meditation facilitator and, on the down-low, a great fella to goof with. Our text stream is a thick mass of absurdity, childish humor, and puppy vids. I hope that colors this conversation with a little extra something.
