In this mind meld, we chat gratitude, the power of devotion, responsible use of the word ‘god,’ whether or not consciousness transcends death, and more!
When the daily doldrums are robbing me of my wonder juice, a few minutes of metta (loving-kindness meditation) always tends to snap me out of it. Typically, the practice revolves around holding someone in your mind’s eye and wishing them well– “May you be happy, may you be free of suffering, may you be content.” It’s simple but powerful. As you repeat those sentiments, the mind inevitably shifts from self-referential spiraling to expansive gratitude for the people in your life.
But, you can keep going with that expansion, too. Consider, for instance, the massive conspiracy of wonder keeping you alive. The planet does not careen out of orbit. You (god willing) are healthy. You’re here, which means there’s also an ocean of opportunity before you. Just being a sentient sack of stardust is marvelously unlikely.
So with that little wonder-facing ramble, my friends, let’s do a slight turn to another wonderful thing– Cory Allen. He’s a friend, an author, host of the Astral Hustle podcast, and a long time practitioner of contemplative exploration.
He’s also been on the pod more than any other human (if this is your first time in the wonder-dip with Cory and I, you’ll see why).
