We’re definitely in time between myths. Meaning-making is getting harder and harder to do on a personal level. There are many reasons for this as we’ve riffed about with folks like Charles Eisenstein and Zak Stein. But those conversations stayed pretty abstract and philosophical. Don’t get me wrong, I love those sessions. However, sometimes there’s no amount of high minded dilly-dallying that really cuts to the heart of how you practically think about our current situation— The protests and where we’re headed societally and politically in general, for instance. A good portion of this mind-meld with my man Colin Frangicetto wound up being that.
We didn’t set out to do it, but that’s how it wound up and I’m glad it did. For one, Colin is an incredibly empathetic, thoughtful person yet he still has strong opinions. Also, conversations like this help me figure out what I think. They help me sharpen the noggin blade. I guess they’re cathartic, too, considering I went on several pretty pointy rants in this one. Apparently there were some opinion gasses bubbling in the old qualia container that needed to squirt out and squirt free they did!
That said, we do of course run the gamut as we always do. We talk about daemons, destiny, AND Joe Biden, AND the police, AND MDMA. So no, this isn’t becoming a politics pod anytime soon.
Colin Frangicetto is a wonderful, wise, whimsical soul. He’s an artist, a musician, and a podcaster. We also went on an ayahuasca adventure last year and recorded a bunch of pods along the way.
