You don’t have an epiphany by knowing something. In fact, knowing is the enemy of epiphanies. The very reason epiphanies and revelations are so elusive is that we have too many god damn ideas about things. To put it plainly, we “know” too much and we experience too little.

In light of the fact that the information blitz is ever intensifying, we need to remind ourselves as often as we can that the sort of head-down two-dimensional information binge we’re all pigging-out on is seriously lacking some profound existential nutrients. Namely subjective experience. The sort of subjective experience you really have to be there for so you can drink it in with the entirety of your being.

At some point during this mind meld, all of that really clicked into place for me. “Know” less. Experience more. That’s where all the juicy bits live.
